Week One: Curb Appeal

To kick-start our articles where we offer you our best tips on how to get your house photograph-ready, we are beginning with the first photo buyers will see – the outside of the house!

The front photograph of a house is one of the most important assets when advertising houses for sale.  In order to show the house off at it’s best, we advise doing the following before photographs are taken:

  • Wash all external windows at the front of the house - glistening windows look fantastic
  • Clean the front door. If the paint is worn or flaking, try freshening up the front door with new paint will show to buyers that you care about the appearance of the house.
  • De-weed the driveway and put out some plant pots with flowers in for a pop of colour by the front door.
  • If you have a lawn outside your house, make sure the grass is freshly cut.
  • Dead-heading any dead plants or flowers.
  • Move any bins off the driveway so they do not appear in the photographs.
  • Remove any vehicles off the drive.

Did you know? Blue skies in front photos of houses attract more buyers.  Thankfully, our photographer can work his magic even on the darkest of days!
